Rhino Employee Profile
Ted Castle, Owner & President
I believe every business owner has a passion that is a source of great motivation. Mine is all about finding ways to create positive social change through business. Rhino has spent over twenty-five years working to live up to our purpose: Impacting the manner in which business is done. I have developed a love of business because it is where the action is. Owning a privately held business is a tremendous challenge with risks and opportunities presenting themselves constantly. I enjoy both my work and the journey that I and fellow Rhino employees have been on since 1981.
As a small company, our employees consider developing and making products for some of the largest food companies in the world to be the league we want to compete in. I am very proud that we co-invented the number one ice cream flavor innovation in the last twenty years; that we developed and manufactured the best selling reduced-fat cheesecake for ten years for supermarkets, and developed and manufactured the number two best selling ice cream novelty in C-stores for a three year period.
My family has always come first in my life. I have been fortunate that my wife, Anne, has been supportive of the time and efforts it takes to own and grow a business. Anne and I, along with our sons Ned and Rooney, have always enjoyed being active together in sports, travel, or at home. A good day might find us playing a game of pond hockey in the woods, water-skiing through a slalom course, racing a sail boat on Lake Champlain, playing a game of bocce in the back yard, or just catching-up over a good meal.
