I began my career in human resources the way a lot of my colleagues have—accidentally! Most of my young life, I wanted to be a trial lawyer. Or an actress. Or an actress playing a trial lawyer! However, when law school was not meant to be, I started as a recruiter at a staffing agency and fell deeply in love with a commitment to “people” functions, making it my mission to be a savvy business partner to the organizations I supported.
My husband and I both grew up in Minnesota and moved to Arizona in 1995, chasing the sun and a west coast lifestyle. It was a fantastic adventure, but after 26 years in 100-plus degree weather, coupled with our daughter’s departure to college, we decided to relocate somewhere with seasons again (especially Fall); one that offered a vital arts and restaurant scene and had a reputation for fabulous people-the perfect combination was Vermont. I’ve been here since October 2021.
I’ve been blessed to work in several industries, from television to healthcare and now, producing the tastiest products ever. When I began researching Rhino Foods, I was very compelled by the benefits and perks we offer to employees, plus the warm and supportive leadership that focuses on doing the right thing, every time. It’s not hard to guess why so many people have been here 20, or even 30 years; it’s the energy, enthusiasm for our products and customers, and incredible people who are talented beyond measure.
